ExtraGive 2022

ExtraGive 2022

The ExtraGive is happening again on November 18, 2022. The ExtraGive is a celebration inspiring individual donations and shining a light on the work of our Community Benefit Sector.  The Central Market Trust is a nonprofit organization developed to operate our beloved Central Market.  Since 2006, we have engaged the community and built a strong Market.  The Market is the country’s oldest, continuously operated Farmer’s Market.  It was built by our community in the 1700s and is sustained by our community in the 2000s.

We have participated in the ExtraGive for years.  Your generosity has been a cornerstone of our success.  We invite you to join us once again for this terrific event.  There are a ton of opportunities for you to participate in the events, donate, and join your community to support the Central Market.  I wanted to highlight our events so you can plan your day with us!

November 18 is a Market Day!  The Central Market is open every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.  Come and shop or join us for breakfast or lunch.  If you come to the Market between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm and donate at least $25 at our giving station, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win a fabulous gift basket from Central Market.  Our Standholders have generously donated their products to entice people to shop and give to Central Market.  You’ll also receive a wooden token* to visit Decades!

Visit Market 11am-1pm to WIN!

Between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, donors will help us be eligible for the stretch pool and special prizes.  These are matching funds generous local companies have donated.  The “Magic Minute” is sponsored by Giant from 11:18:00 am to 11:18:59 am.  The first 100 organizations to receive unique donations during that glorious minute will receive a prize of $100!  Then from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, Highmark is sponsoring the “Lunch Hour” when 5 donations will be randomly selected to award an extra $500 Golden Ticket prize.

Give at Decades from 4pm-6pm and get a Central Market Glass!

From 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, come visit us at Decades!  If you already donated to our mission at Market that morning, bring your Decades wooden token to receive free arcade game tokens.  If you didn’t give earlier, now is your chance.  If you donate at least $25 at our Decades giving station, you’ll receive a free Central Market glass*! There are two more chances for your donation to be matched with a gift of $500.  The “Happy Hour” from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm is sponsored by McNees Wallace and Nurick.  The “PM Rush Hour” from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm is sponsored by PeoplesBank.

You can help Market THRIVE this ExtraGive!

So, do you have your giving plan?  Become a Champion for the Central Market Trust.  You can create your fundraising page off our ExtraGive profile and expand our reach to your network.  One more thing!  Share why you give extra and enter the Central Market Trust to win one of 10 $500 prizes!  All you have to do is post why you give on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, use the hashtag #Igiveextra or #ExtraGive, and tag The Lancaster Central Market.

See you at Market!                                                                                                                          *While supplies last
